Year 1
In year 1 we have been writing stories about the seaside. We had character, setting and event cards to give us lots of ideas and we added juicy describing words to make our stories as good as we could for our seaside books. Continuing with a nautical theme, in maths we made bingo boards decorated with lighthouses. Thank you for sending in pictures and white hat facts about famous sportsmen and women. We used these to learn how to show good sportsmanship. The Oaktree games were a great success thanks to the weather! For the last day of term can the children bring in a game or toy to share - no electronic games or games with small pieces, please! At this time of the year may we, the Year 1 team, thank you for all your help both in the classroom and behind the scenes - and don't forget to come in on 20th July so we can say thank you in person to all our special helpers!
Year 2
The week has been busy with Sports Day and lots of rehearsals for our Leaver's Assembly and Helper's Party. We are sure that it will be 'alright on the night' as they say. The children have had so many ideas as to what they wanted to include in the show and it has been lovely to work with them on improving their performance. We have now collected in all of the children's reading books. If you have anything belonging to the school please can you ensure that these are returned on Monday. What with Helper's Celebration, Leavers Assembly and Leavers Party, next week promises to be a very full and fun three days. We do need some help setting up the food on Tuesday morning. The children will not need lunch on Tuesday as this is being provided. If you are able to help, please see your child's class teacher as soon as possible. All of the Year Two Team would like to take this opportunity to say thank you and goodbye. We wish you a safe and happy holiday and hope all the children enjoy the next stage of their education very much. It's been a lovely year. The Year Two Team. Homework Challenge If you haven't done so already, try to learn to tell the time this summer. A few minutes practise each day will prove very valuable.

Cards
We have packed up a good selection of cards into bags of 10. We have ensured that the cards are perfect and suitable. This is very good value for money. We would be grateful if you could try and sell a few packs to family and fiends. This would help towards our fundraising efforts. We make 100% on any sales. We will leave the cards outside the Eco Lobby each day so please have a look.
Oance Club
Parents can come at 3.45 pm on Tuesday 21st July to watch the children perform their dance routine.
