Year 1 This has been a busy week in Year 1 with both the Spring Fair and an exciting history trip. Thank goodness for Friday! In maths we have been focusing on tens and units - learning how to use equipment to show numbers and how to draw them too. We have been continuing to add them and will look to subtracting next week. In preparation for the Spring Fair we have been adding money and calculating how much change we need. Our literacy lessons have seen us thinking about how to promote our class stalls for the fair. We have produced colourful, eye-catching posters which are displayed around the school to direct visitors to the different stalls. On Tuesday morning we had the chance to try out some of the activities available at the after school sports club run by 5CL- we had lots of fun playing the traffic light game! Thank you for coming to support the Spring Fair and helping on the stall! HOMEWORK CHALLENGE How much money is there in Mum's purse? Try to count in 2's, 5's and 10's to help you! |

Year 2
The children are becoming real experts at writing riddles and hopefully will show you what they can do by completing this week's homework. Will you be able to guess the answer? In Numeracy our work is looking a halving and quarters starting with shapes. Any help you can give them with this would be very valuable. Maybe they could help dish up the teas into halves or quarters ensuring each portion is the same of course! Thank you very much for all your support for the Spring Fair. We could not do it without you! Please, please, please do come and see our display on how to be a sailor in the Entrance Hall. The children have all made their own information booklets which can be found in their own class's treasure chest. They really are interesting! Helpers are always welcome in Year Two. Please see your child's teacher if you are able to help. Thank you for your support. The Year Two Team. Homework Challenge Find an exciting electrical object at home and write a riddle about it? Remember to start your sentences in different ways and give the best clue in the last sentence. |
