Building our New Classroom We are trying to build a new reception classroom to allow more space for both inside and outside learning for our youngest children. This new classroom will allow a Year 2 class to move into a more spacious classroom in the main building. The Year 2 classroom will then be used for a much needed Special Needs confidential meeting room, therapy area and parent’s area.
During the Autumn Term we finished our new classroom walls, windows, doors and roof. The building is now water tight. We have also put in the underground pipes across the field for the ground source heating system. We have used all of the money provided by Surrey CC for the upkeep of the building and the £40,000 that we have raised during the last few years. With the money raised by HOPA we will complete the paths around the building once the weather improves.
We are now getting new costings to complete the building and we will then begin a new fundraising drive. About us The Oaktree School opened in 1967 and caters for children of infant school age. We admit children at the age of four until they are seven years old, in line with the Surrey admissions policy. There are nine class bases. All classes have a maximum of thirty children, which consist of three Foundation classes, three Year 1 class, three Year 2 classes. An excellent staff team works together to provide an education of a high standard which is consistent throughout each year group. We maintain an adult to child ration of 1: 13 in early years and support is available within the Year 1 and Year 2 classes. We are extremely proud of all that goes on here.
