It is with great sadness that we inform parents and friends of The Oaktree School that Miss Chasemore, who was headteacher at the school from the day it opened in 1967 until 1994, has passed away. Miss Chasemore was an inspirational headteacher who left the school with an amazing legacy. We are making a memory book at school to give to her family. If you knew Miss Chasmore and would like to contribute a message please email office@oaktree.surrey.sch.uk and we will include your message in our book.

About us The Oaktree School opened in 1967 and caters for children of infant school age. We admit children at the start of the academic year in which they are five until they are seven years old, in line with the Surrey admissions policy. There are nine class bases. All classes have a maximum of thirty children, which consist of three Foundation classes, three Year 1 class, three Year 2 classes. An excellent staff team work together to provide an education of a high standard which is consistent throughout each year group. We maintain an adult to child ration of 1: 13 in early years and support is available within the Year 1 and Year 2 classes. We are extremely proud of all that goes on at the Oaktree School and we welcome visitors. As our website demonstrates, the children at Oaktree are supported in their learning by dedicated staff, governors and parents. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT We have now finished our new Eco Foundation Stage Classroom and redecorated and redesigned the other two classrooms to make a modern exciting learning environment for our youngest children. Thank you so much everyone for everyone’s support either raising money or giving time to complete work. The children are really enjoying the new Foundation Unit.
During the summer we have been very busy finishing the Foundation Stage outside area with two new covered areas and new safer ground surfacing. We have moved Owl Class into the main building and the children are enjoying their lovely big classroom. We have built a corridor between Magpie Class and Ladybird Class so that the children in these classes are not disturbed by people walking through. In old Owl Class, renamed Badger Room, we now have a lovely new Parent Meeting area and Teachers Planning area. The school staff have worked so hard over the summer to prepare the school for the new term.
We are looking forward to an exciting term.
